A classic antique Double Albert watch chain, attributed to the late Victorian or early Edwardian period (circa 1890-1910). The chain is constructed from a heavy yellow metal, which appears to be gold-filled or rolled gold based on market comparables and visual inspection, as no purity marks or hallmarks are visible. The design features a heavy, uniform curb link pattern throughout. Essential fittings include a central cylindrical T-bar, designed to pass through a waistcoat buttonhole. The chain features two swiveling dog clips; one is located on a short drop from the central link, traditionally used for attaching a fob or seal, and the second, smaller clip is located at the terminal end, intended for securing a pocket watch.
